Speaking on his appointment Douglas Bostock said “I was both surprised and delighted when out of the blue the Flixton Band approached me. The band had traced down my mother, still resident in Flixton, who in turn put them in contact we me in South Germany.
I am honoured to support the Flixton Band in what ever way I can and am very pleased that the group which started off my involvement in music making is flourishing. I wish all the band members, together with their new musical director, great success in the future. I hope to turn up at a rehearsal or concert before too long."
