Thank you to all our supporters who turned up to hear us at the preview night last weekend at Boarshurst Band Club, the open rehearsal in Flixton on Thursday or the contest itself yesterday in Blackpool.
The band put on a good performance of Phil Lawrence’s test piece, A Day in the Life of a Knight. The adjudicators gave quite different responses from each other but both noted the fine performances by our soloists. Our overall placing of 11th will leave us mid-table when we return in 12 months’ time. Our best wishes go with winners, Wardle Anderson Brass and the two runners up, Boarshurst Silver and Manx Concert Brass, to represent the North West at the National Finals in the autumn.
Many thanks to David Yerkess (soprano), Chris Osborn (bass) and Ian Baguley (percussion) who joined us for the day to help out with current vacancies. We very much hope that you felt welcome and enjoyed the experience.
