We are about to enter the week running up to our annual North West Area Championships. This is our most important contest of the year as it determines our ranking status for the next year.
This year’s test piece for our section is the Introduction, Elegy and Caprice by Morley Calvert. You have two opportunities to hear our interpretation of this classic piece before the big day.
We will perform at the Boarshurst Band Club (Greenfield) this Sunday evening, where a band from each section is invited to give a run through of their test-piece.
On Thursday evening we will open our doors to anyone who would like to listen to a near-final rehearsal. We will perform the complete work at least twice, and perhaps polish some sections between the two performances.
Then Sunday is the big day with the performance at Blackpool Winter Gardens.
