Today we learnt that the annual NW Area Championships, scheduled for February 2021, have been cancelled. As with so many functions this contest has fallen prey to lock-down. Latest Government advice has relaxed some rules for professional musicians but has tightened those for brass players, woodwind and singers. Lock-down lifting?
It may be for shops and even pubs and restaurants, but we haven't quite got there yet for band rehearsals. Blowing lots of air around a confined rehearsal room is still considered unwise.
